November 7th meeting rules change proposal

I have submitted the following rules change. But I'm willing to put it out there for input as well rather than spring it on everyone at the meeting.

Proposal: Expand 'out of class' rule.

Reason: To prevent competitors from exploiting the rule to secure a competitive advantage by establishing a timeline.

Wednesday meeting- voting issues

New Super Sprint rules for 2010

Aside from the rule for a full 'fire wall' (i.e water wall) for those cars with an above the head radiator (a rule I'd agree to despite the fact that a rad has no place there) the big news appears to be the "Weight Penalty of 2010".....for the next year all SS cars must weigh in at 8lbs per ci displacement. From Ted's call the vote in favor was about 8 to 3.

Number of Entries: Entries will be limited to a maximum of 20 entries per class. The 1st 20 entries for a class with a completed entry form and payment received by the Treasurer will race.

Didn't this proposal lose by over a 2 to 1 margin?

Head and Neck Restraint Systems

Anybody have advice on picking out a Head and Neck Restraint System?

I have seen some guides on-line, but they never compared the different devices. I first lean toward the HANS because of its popularity and wide use. The Hutchens seems nice on the wallet, but complicated to put on/fit right? Is the Hutchens as effective with the force being distributed to the webbing around your body? I also worry that I won't be able to sit all the way back into the seat. I have a...

Pikes Peak Specials are too much work to make em fit on the Evo for this year. So, I'm looking for some information regarding tread compounds used in different tires, and not having much luck with a reply from the contact info listed on their website.

Rally Restrictor Rule

For those of you not at the meeting last night, someone brought up the fact that Rally cars are not running turbo restrictors and was concerned about the implications that our "increased power" might have on car safety. Since the safety of our competitors is of the utmost concern, the club will be looking into it and making a decision at the April 1st meeting. gear ratio

Does anyone know what rear gear most of the sportsman guys are running, or perhaps what the highest speeds are that they're attaining? Actually, I'd rather know what high trap speeds are, that'll be all I need to figure it out depending on the rear tire I choose.

I'd like to put together only one rear set if I can get away with that.

Dave there will be NO VOTING at tomorrows meeting, what I was told. I am folding the edge of my 3in at the top of the Hans for a 5 in section and have em SEWN....for now. The owners meeting is VERY IMPORTANT and I was just made AWARE of that fact. If I was not asleep when we meet, Id be at every one!. I have put common sense faith in my fellow racers, as far as voting for stuff that makes sense. We will resubmit the new info pertaining to the CORRECT Restraint system for the Hans at next...

SEAT BELTS THAT FIT THE %$#&^% HANS DEVISE

I see the 2: seat belts that hold the hans in better were shot down. We need to rethink this. I have a sternum protector that SUPPOSEDLY keeps the hans From comin OUT from under the shoulder belts. THEY HAVE NEW belts were the section over the hans is a lil thinner to KEEP IT ON YA, We need to look at this... ..Lets do some more research, as this is important, and to shoot it down ..we need more research, see checkpoint racing for more info. Hello everyone, I am building a time attack car and i think i have most of it covered except 2 things. First of all it mentions that you are allowed to run gasoline, alcohol, diesel and other fuels like LPG. It also says you are not allowed to use Methanol in TA but i was unsure if they allowed E85 ethanol, or even E98. Im assuming the "intent" of that rule is that they only want people in the TA class to run fuel available at a gas pump which varies among areas. I can get...

So, it's that time of the year again. Let's compare some thoughts on the ballots as I'm on the fence on a couple issues myself.

2.2- A proposal to better define how new divisions are brought in. I'm good with it.
Hats off to whomever wrote this as it's one of the most clear and concise proposals in some time and by being broken down in sub sections allows for some fine tuning...

No splits for 2008 in CHCA

It comes as no surprise given the desire for many to allow double entries, the club rules for 2008 list "no splits" in the coming season.

I have mixed thoughts on it...I think for those who wanted to double enter for the sake of double runs it's not what we had hoped for. On the other hand if it proves to move the show along on Saturday with quicker turn-arounds and can assure all competitors of a full four runs (or more) I'm all for it. There should be no reason...
